I’ve had this one in the works for a little while now. I honestly forget how it all started but I enjoyed researching and writing it.
It’s amazing how far the rabbit hole goes on some of these investigations.

For the production of this, I wanted to push myself in getting everything out inside a one-month timeframe. I think I did pretty well but one area I realised I need to improve on is my audio. Just like colour grading, I find I just don’t have the patience or the interest to dive deep into audio production. I know a few things but I would GLADLY let someone else take the reigns on everything audio related.

The final mood board from the completed film.

One area I really want to push myself in is the area of graphic design. Good graphic design can be transcendent and really take the viewer on a powerful journey. For this video, I tried to establish some design rules and stick to them. The rules for this one was around using mostly 3 colours, black, grey and yellow.

This piece is about journalism and inevestigation so I wanted to give everything a very tactile feel so I tried to always include a paper texture in each frame. I also include a lot of analog based sound effects. Typewriter, crayon, pencil, paper etc.
